First Run
MumRadio shows an in-app tutorial the first time it opens. You can close it, choose Don't show again, or reopen it later from Menu > Help > Tutorial.
Before connecting, create or confirm the client certificate, add a Mumble server, test the server to pin its TLS certificate and load channels, then choose the default channel the app should join.
Main Screen
The main screen is built for radio operation: a menu button, quick actions, connection status, a large channel display, channel movement controls, a users panel, and one large PTT control.
Connection Status
Status text reports disconnected, connecting, connected, channel movement, reconnect countdowns, transmitting, channel busy, Paging armed, and Paging alert active states.
Channel Controls
Use the left and right arrows, open the channel list with the down arrow, or swipe across the channel name to move channels. The selected channel is saved as the server default.
Users Panel
The Users panel expands and collapses, counts users in the current channel, and shows a speaker indicator when another user is talking.
Push To Talk
Hold PTT to transmit and release it to listen. MumRadio uses PTT-only simplex behavior; voice activation and continuous transmit are intentionally unavailable. PTT is blocked while the channel is busy or while the client-only Paging channel is armed.
Settings Reference
Every setting below is available from Menu > Settings unless noted otherwise. Save each dialog to apply changes.

| Theme | Changes the app color theme. Choices are White, Black, Red, Forest, Amber, and Ocean. |
| PTT pressed color | Sets the transmit-state PTT color. Choices are Theme accent, Red, Orange, Green, Blue, and Purple. |
| Channel text size | Adjusts the large channel name text from compact to oversized display. |
| Display channel names in all caps | Shows the channel display in uppercase. |
| Backlight channel display | Adds a backlight treatment behind the channel display. |
Audio
| Output route | Chooses where received audio plays: Media/default, Bluetooth, Loudspeaker, or Earpiece. |
| Microphone gain | Sets transmit microphone gain from 0 to 100. |
| Read channel name when moving channels | Uses text-to-speech to announce channel changes. |
| PTT start sound | Chooses or clears a sound that plays before transmit begins. |
| Play alert when another user starts talking | Enables a speaker-start alert for users in the active channel. |
| Speaking alert sound | Chooses or clears the sound used by the speaking alert. |
Channel
| Default channel | Chooses the active server's default channel, used when connecting and by the plug shortcut. |
| Enable monitor | Enables the monitor shortcut when both monitor channels are valid and different. |
| Monitor while in channel | Sets the channel where the monitor shortcut is allowed. |
| Play audio from channel | Sets the channel whose audio is added while monitoring is active. |
Paging
Paging adds a client-only Paging channel when enabled and ready. Opening it joins the configured monitor channel on the server, listens for a two- or three-tone sequence, and changes PTT into Reset while an alert is armed or active.
| Monitor channel | Chooses the server channel that paging listens to. |
| Enable paging | Turns on the Paging channel. At least Tone 1 and Tone 2 must be configured. |
| Tone hertz | Sets each tone frequency. Valid configured tones are 20 to 20,000 Hz. |
| Bandwidth variance | Sets the accepted plus-or-minus frequency variance from 0 to 200 Hz. |
| Minimum seconds | Sets how long the tone must be present before it counts. |
| Minimum SNR | Sets the signal-to-noise threshold from 0 to 100 dB. |
| Monitor duration after tone sequence | Sets how long detected page audio stays active unless continuous playback is enabled. |
| Play continuously until reset | Keeps page audio active until you press Reset. |
| Play alert sound | Plays an alert sound when the page sequence is detected. |
| Alert sound | Chooses or clears the sound used by paging alerts. |
Reconnect
| Reconnect after connection loss | Automatically retries after an unexpected disconnect. |
| Retry indefinitely | Keeps retrying until you manually disconnect or a connection succeeds. |
| Retry attempts | Sets the maximum attempts when indefinite retry is off. |
| Interval seconds | Sets the starting retry delay. Later attempts use exponential backoff up to the app maximum. |
Recording
| Enable voice recording | Saves received voice audio according to the selected channel mode. |
| Max recording storage | Caps recordings from 1 MB to 10,000 MB. The default is 100 MB. |
| Record current channel | Records audio for the channel currently being used. |
| Record selected channel | Records only the chosen channel from the active server. |
| Selected recording channel | Chooses the channel used when Record selected channel is active. |
| Choose save folder | Stores recordings in a user-selected folder. |
| Use app storage | Stores recordings privately inside app storage. |
Background Battery Access
This opens Android battery optimization controls so MumRadio can keep its foreground service and audio behavior reliable while the screen is locked or the app is in the background.
